The engineer will provide software support for a Robot Subsystem to develop next generation robotic software systems for a NASA program. The robot subsystem is responsible operating multiple robotic arms with precision for a spaceflight program.
Job duties include:
Provide technical direction for the design and development of robotic systems, robotic arms and associated technologies.
Define software architectures, requirements, solutions and development environments for terrestrial and space robotic systems.
Develop software components and algorithms for spacecraft servicing robotic systems.
Work with other engineers and scientists to design, develop, integrate and test related systems and software components.
Create and deliver technical presentations to support the design and development of robot systems, including requirement and design reviews.
Oversee the day-to-day software development flow, test and integration process with other subsystems.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Computer
5-7+ years of directly applicable experience Hands-on experience with robotics software development in C++.
Experience with standard best practice software development for the full SW development lifecycle.
It would be a plus if they have experience with ROS (robotic operating system)
Experience with kinematics, precision motion controls and robotic arm applications.
Experience with high reliability systems a plus.
