Our client has a team of 26 Automation Engineers working to make their shovels autonomous. This is exciting work and related to the companies that are working to make cars autonomous.
You will be working within robotics, collision mitigation, object recognition, Lidar, Radar, embedded software. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for research and development of algorithms and controls facilitating in the autonomous operation of large mining equipment. Software development of new machine capabilities related to remote operation, semi-autonomous, and full autonomous operation. Integration and testing of Autonomous systems via equipment Proving Grounds, Hardware-In-Loop simulators, and Data & Analytic platforms. Acquire and integrate new technology products related to automation (LiDAR, RADAR, Camera, HPGPS, Computers, etc.)
- Master's Degree in Automation or Robotics or Bachelor's Degree with working experience in collision mitigation, object recognition, embedded development.
- Master's Degree with emphasis in automation/robotics or experienced candidate
- Object recognition, LIDAR, RADAR, autonomous vehicle experience preferred
- Controls, Automation Engineer with working experience in complex, high volume environment where they were in a highly automated environment and not just a small PLC place
Moving to a brand new facility in 2022. Open office atmosphere.
This is advanced, R&D engineering. Most of the team is made up of Master's Degrees and PHD level Robotics, Automation people.
